a wild, eco wonderland

full of love, light & kindness

GRATITUDE TO GUESTS FOR THEIR generous WORDS

A great place to relax, unwind, and take in all the beauty around you.

“If you want to experience some magic...this is it, beautiful property, from the pool to the beds…it was all just perfect...

The house is charming and its location is a delight. There’s plenty of space around the villa itself and the opportunity to engage with the natural surroundings was fantastic.
We loved the villa for its connection to nature - to be able to swim in the pool whilst spotting the monkeys in the trees was a pure delight ..

come to meet the trees, the plants, the wild weeds…the birds, the animals,…the stars, the sun, the moon…

A wild jungle farm with a coconutty, cinnamon flavour

  • A Place for Nature Lovers

Lush Hush Hush is a wonderful place to connect with nature. This 8 acre wild, organic cinnamon and coconut jungle farm is located near Weligama, Southern Sri Lanka. The nature reserve is home to many unique wild birds, monkeys, and other creatures. We also have two resident dogs who are friendly to invited visitors.

The farm has an incredible array of medicinal and edible wild plants and trees. This is one of our favourite topics. Come to learn more and taste the fresh flavours. If you are interested in buying our organic cinnamon, please go to our online shop.

The Nature Nurture Rest, the villa on the farm, has space for 4-6 people to stay. You feel like you are living amidst nature. The pool is just steps away from the vast veranda. A glorious place to watch the wildlife, to just be. Every season has its unique characteristics.

We welcome you to come and stay. Families and groups of friends are welcome. We warmly welcome solo female travellers and women’s groups.

  • Let Nature guide you

Meet Prince, the peacock. If you are lucky, he will appear and maybe take you for a walk. He may give you a hoot or two.

  • Learn from our nature guides

If Prince the peacock is unavailable, you can learn from our human guides. Sanuka is the nature guide. See below.

Come to learn about what grows on the wild farm, who lives in the jungle and where the creatures hide. This is a delightful place for kids and adults to explore your relationship with nature.

Both the Peacock Suite and the Cashew View Suite have air-conditioning and ceiling fans and en-suite bathrooms with indoor and outdoor showers. The indoor shower water is warmed by the solar heater. The beds are large king-sized beds. We have two extra single beds. You can book for a minimum of 3 nights - we recommend at least a week to experience the joys of the surrounding nature.

You can also choose self-catering using our well-equipped kitchen. We charge for other meals which may be cooked on request with advance notice.

You may want to travel around the area by tuk tuk. The beach is a ten minute drive or 20-25 minute bike ride away. Many people love the peace of this inland location and go to the beach sometimes during the day.

We are happy to arrange local experiences such as surfing with Sanuka - highly recommended, whale-watching, diving, snorkelling, and local tours. Sanuka grew up in Weligama and can recommend many local activities.

how to get to lush hush hush

From the international airport:

Please let us know if you would like us to book a car or mini-van for you or your group. It takes about 2.5 hours to 3 hours from the airport to Lush Hush Hush near Weligama via the scenic Southern Expressway. Often flights arrive in the middle of the night but it is possible to arrange your transportation directly at any time of the day or night.

A small plane can take you from near the international airport to the nearby local airport of Koggala but bookings must be made far in advance.

Coming from another place in Sri Lanka:

We can arrange to collect you from the railway station or bus station in Weligama. We are about a 15 minute drive inland from Weligama town and beach. Or we can give directions to your driver if you are coming by car.

If you are very lucky, you may be able to catch a flight to Lush Hush Hush on a peacock (but not during the mating season:)

Locally, you can take tuk tuks. If you feel like swinging into town, the monkeys can give you some tree leaping lessons:)

After you make a booking, we will give you our exact location. We want to retain the hush hush mystery of this magical place.
